Reinhard N. Antemann, age 98, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died November 5, 2021. He was born December 20, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Reinard and Christine Antemann.
Reinhard, known as "Nick", grew up in Chicago as a first generation American. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and received training as a pilot and bombardier in B-24's and B-25's.
He owned and operated Nick's Barber Shop on the northwest side of Chicago. He was a scout master for Boy Scout Troop #98 in Chicago. He enjoyed music and sang bass with the Pioneer Chapter and Chicago Metro Chapter of SPEBSQSA Barber Shop Group, where he was a past president. He was also a past president of Astro Investment Club, a member of The Regals Social Athletic Club and active with the Luther North High School Booster Club.
He is survived by his wife, Corrine, his children, Larry (Mary Ann) Antemann and Joyce (Chuck) Smerick, step-children, Duane (Jill) Rommel, Jeffrey (Diane) Rommel, Joyce Beaulieu, grandchildren, Neal (Lisa) Antemann, Christopher (Claire) Antemann, Jonathan Hart, Meredith Hart, and Sean (Bridget) Hart, Michael & Jeffery Rommel, Nathan, Melissa & Jacob Rommel, Jennifer & Janel Parker, great-grandchildren, Ryan Antemann, Benjamin Antemann, and Dexter Hart and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lena Bushauer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 12, at Covenant Living at Windsor at 11:30 a.m. Private interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
