Rebeca Pinedo's Obituary
Rebeca "Mama Beca" Pinedo, age 82, a 12 year resident of West Chicago, and formerly a 38 year resident of Wheaton, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 25, 2011. She was born March 1, 1928 in Coahuila, Torreon, MX.
In 1947, she married Gonzalo Pinedo. After the birth of their fifth child, this young family came to the US where she came alongside her migrant worker husband. She became a stronger woman who had to overcome much adversity and many barriers while raising her ten children. She loved her flower gardens, her dolls, her family movies and lively music. But her true dedication was to her faith and to her family that she so loved - all 5 generations! She was a member of Iglesia del Pueblo at Wheaton Bible Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gonzalo C. Pinedo, nine children, Victor (Kathy) Pinedo of Elgin, IL, Sylvia Chavez of St. Charles, IL, Maria Escamilla of West Chicago, IL, Roy Pinedo of Lombard, IL, Carlos Pinedo of West Chicago, IL, Bobby (Donna) Pinedo of Bartlett, IL, Gloria Pinedo of Warrenville, IL, Ricky (Sarah) Pinedo of Cabot, AR and Christina (Pablo) Rodriquez of Elgin, IL. and 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Darci Pinedo of Warrenville, IL. She is also survived by 5 siblings, many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her beautiful smile, great sense of humor and loving spirit will be missed immensely and forever be in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Pinedo and granddaughter, Emma Rose Pinedo.
A visitation will be held February 28, 2011 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave. in West Chicago. A funeral service will be held March 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
