Raymond E. Jensen (85) of North Port, FL died on April 24th, 2013 from complications of cancer. He was the son of Eigil Holme Jensen and Ruth M. Johns. Ray was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. He attended Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell, NJ and then married Jeanne Marie Moran. In 1952 he enlisted in the US Air Force after which he moved to Glen Ellyn, IL. He worked in sales until 1977 and then became a builder. He was a great gourmet cook and loved fishing. He moved to FL in 2004 from Wheaton, IL.
He is survived by his children Kyle of Apopka, FL, Todd of Ocala, FL and Laurel Disney of Richland, MI; his long time friend and companion Jeanne Detry; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Ray was a fantastic friend, father and husband. We will all miss Ray as he moves from this world. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice, 144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952
