Raymond D. Coveny, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Johnson Health Care Center, in Carol Stream, IL.
A private funeral Mass and burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Windsor Park Benevolent Care Fund, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, IL 60188.
Raymond was born in Kinsman, IL January 26, 1918. He was the son of Lorenzo and Julia (Curtain) Coveny. He graduated from Mazon High School, went to college at St. Ambrose University, and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1946. On July 26, 1947 he married Kathleen M. Fox in Chicago. He was a Captain in the U. S. Army during Korean War stationed at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. Raymond was a dentist in Streator, Illinois for 43 years – 1948 to 1991.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kathleen; four children, Jeanne Young, Pat (Sara) Coveny, Michael (Lisa) Coveny, and Mary Claire (David) Wenz; ten grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Julia Coveny; two sisters, Rita Geraldine Coveny, and Monica (Coveny) Finch; and her brother, Kenneth J. Coveny.
