Obituary
Ray W. Newberg, age 83, a resident of Wheaton since 1984 and formerly of Homewood and Chicago, died Thursday, March 19 at home. He was a retired Supervisor of United States Steel South Works. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton where he was a member of the JOY Group and the Garden Club.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Peterson of Colorado Springs, CO, four nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elsie Nyberg and Dorothy Hopper and a brother Melvin Larson.
Interment will be held on Monday, March 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chicago. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church, 125 E. Seminary Ave., in Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 until 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to the St. John Lutheran Church, Garden Club, 125 E. Seminary Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.
