Ray LaForte, age 53, a resident of Carol Stream, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He was born on June 23, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois.
He grew up in the Chicagoland area and attended Glenbard North High School. He later moved to Hanover Park where he met Denise Manders through her sister, Dawn. They were married on August 16, 1992. After a career in the tool and die industry, he began his own handyman business, "All in One Handyman, Inc."
His passions were working on cars and motorcycles. He never sat still and was always working on a project, building something or helping others. He also enjoyed index racing with his son at Byron Dragway and supporting his daughter's passion, dance.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Denise LaForte, two children, Danny LaForte and Jocelyn LaForte, and his mother, Annette LaForte of Glendale Heights. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond LaForte, Sr. and his brother, Steve LaForte.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
