Obituary

Philip P. DiCicco, age 80, a resident of Trout Creek, Michigan, and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton and Glen Ellyn went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2016, in Wausau, Wisconsin. He was born May 26, 1935 in Chicago to Philip and Emma DiCicco.

Philip graduated from Kelvyn Park High School in Chicago. He attended Moody Bible Institute and graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor's Degree in philosophy and then from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master's Degree in theology. He worked in Christian publishing his whole career; over thirty years at Scripture Press in Wheaton and then ended his career at Christianity Today in Carol Stream. He co-authored a book series called "Facing the Issues", published by Baker Books. Throughout his career he was active in ministry and served as interim pastor at Logan Square Evangelical Free Church in Chicago. He attended College Church and then for many years was active at Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church before his move in 2007. He and his wife Diane retired to Trout Creek, Michigan.

He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, especially carving and furniture making. He was an avid reader with an interest in politics, presidents and history, which his vast personal library reflected. He enjoyed sports and had played basketball and tennis.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; five children, Deborah and (John) Lorentsen of Wheaton, Mark and (Jill) DiCicco of Batavia, Diane and (Tony) DiLeonardi of Wheaton, Megan and (Steve) Rieger of Arlington Heights, and Stephanie and (Stephen) Jarvis of Glen Ellyn; his grandchildren, Matthew, Marty (Jane) and Jack Lorentsen, Joseph (Natalie), Philip, John, and Paul DiCicco, Theadora, James, Emma, and Eleanor DiLeonardi, Patrick and Henry Rieger, and Bowen and Finn Jarvis, and his brother, Leonard (Jeanine) DiCicco. He was preceded in death by his parent and a sister, Theodora.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
