West
January 22, 1970 – October 7, 2016
Peter West , age 46, a resident of Wheaton, IL, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Loyola Medical Center following complications from a lung transplant. He was born January 22, 1970 in Chicago.
Pete was raised in Streamwood, residing there from 1976 until 2002. Graduating from Streamwood High School, he retained an important and lasting bond with many neighborhood friends. Meeting Carrie Farrey in 1996 through a mutual friend they were married on July 6, 2002. With endless work and integrity the company Pete founded and operated for almost 20 years, J & P Moving Services, Inc., grew into a thriving business known for an uncommon loyalty from his customers and to his employees.
Having a wonderful sense of humor and his own unique perspective on life, Pete was known for being able to defuse any unpleasant situation or seeming disaster with a wry and insightful comment. He was an avid sports fan at all levels. Pete's favorite professional teams were the Bears, Blackhawks, and the White Sox. He also enjoyed and encouraged youth sports by sponsoring many local teams, including, baseball, football, cheerleading, bowling and volleyball.
Giving his life to the Lord, Pete was active at Parkview Community Church, where he volunteered with Children's ministries and participated in small groups to grow in his faith. Additionally, he had a special interest in the principles that distinguish a Christian business. Pete was outgoing and social, always extending a warm welcome to family and friends "The more the merrier" being his mantra. In his free time, Pete enjoyed boating, fishing and (powerful) sports cars. Above all, he valued his family and was a best friend to his daughters.
