Pearl E. Teske, age 96, a resident of Wheaton, IL, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 14, at Claire Oaks in Bartlett. She was born May 14, 1923 in Chicago, IL.

Her Christian faith was central to her life. Pearl loved to laugh, read, enjoyed going out to lunch with friends, and enjoyed going to the ocean. She cared about people and "adopted" many friends who became family to her.

After 36 years, Pearl retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company (AT&T). She was a telephone operator and was highly recognized, receiving numerous awards. Pearl was a lifetime member of the AT&T Pioneers, Communication Workers of America and was recognized for many evangelical contributions to the Navigators of Colorado Springs, CO.

She is survived by her grandson, John (Joanne) Aasen, great-granddaughter, Jenica Aasen, granddaughter, Susan (Casey) Wohl and their children, Daniel and Megan Wohl and her former daughter-in-law, Carole Aasen. She is also survived by many adopted family members including: Jeanne Caliendo, John Harrington and her children, Marci (Andrea) and Giacomo (Kristyn) and her five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Rev. Fred and Lottie Deutsche, her first husband, Harold Stevens, her second husband, William August Teske and her son, George Herald "Scotty" Stevens.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
