Pearl L. Owczarek, age 95, a resident of Belmont Village in Carol Stream, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She was born July 24, 1926 in Chicago to Frank and Pauline Lewandowski.

Pearl grew up in Chicago and attended St. Casimir High School. She worked at Western Electric Company, where she enjoyed entertaining her co-workers at lunchtime as a DJ. She married Frank Owczarek on November 24, 1951. She was a stay at home mom and an active volunteer while her daughters were young. Later she worked at Midwest Savings and Loan on Cermak Road, where she worked her way up to Branch Manager. In retirement, she was an active volunteer for MarianJoy and served for over 20 years and Marian Park, where she was a board member for 5 years.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Chris Retzke and Barbara Bryson, four grandsons, Daryl, Kevin, David and Mark, and three great-grandchildren, Elena, Leo and Audrey. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen, Ann and Evelyn.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, where a funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Private entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
