Paula Kovarik, age 75, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born February 6, 1938 in Melrose Park, IL.
She was born in Melrose Park to Italian parents and lived in town for 50 years. Paula had a very sick mother, and selflessly took care of her for years, giving up her childhood. Paula lost her father at 16 years of age and her mother at 21 years of age in 1959, just 9 months after the birth of her daughter. She married her husband, Joseph, in 1991 and enjoyed 23 wonderful years of marriage. Her life revolved around serving God and others, and was involved in her local church her entire life. She held a special love for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Kovarik of Glen Ellyn; her daughter Stephanie (Joe) Mola, her sons Joseph, Theodore (Angel), and Michael (Hoang) Kovarik; her grandchildren Sharlene, Joey, Ann Marie, Matthew, Zachary, Colin, and Emily; and her two sisters Dawnie and Annie.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 from 2-9 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 1100 S Fairfield Ave., Lombard, IL 60148. where a funeral service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., with an hour of visitation taking place beforehand. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
Anyone arranging for flowers to be delivered for services should ask the florist to deliver the flowers to church on Friday, September 6, between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
