January 13, 1931 – April 15, 2017
Paul E. Hesterberg, age 86, a resident of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017. He was born January 13, 1931 in Farmersville, Illinois to Henry and Olga Hesterberg.
He grew up in Farmersville and moved to Litchfield, Illinois during his senior year of high school. After high school he worked as an electrician's assistant and then for the Illinois Central Railroad. He met Valare A. Logemann through friends in Dixon, IL. They were married August 2, 1958 and they moved to Valparaiso, Indiana. Paul became a licensed electrician after moving to Rockford, Illinois, where they raised their family. He was a member of the IBEW 364.
His Christian faith was an important part of his life and he was active at First Assembly of God in Rockford and Calvary Church in Naperville. He was a handyman and enjoyed helping others by maintaining and fixing whatever he could. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family throughout the United States. He loved capturing and sharing these moments through slide shows.
He is survived by his wife, Valare, three daughters, Lori (Michael) Hovenesian of Tulsa, OK, Beth (Ben) Fulton of Wheaton and Amy (Jay) Orellana of Wheaton, 11 grandchildren, Carol (Isaiah) Wilson, Janet (Nic) Halsmer, Jacob Fulton, Anna (Tyler) Sahly, Aubrey (Spencer Morris) Adams, Luke Fulton, Trevor Adams, Josh (Alexa) Adams, Kyle Orellana, Kory Orellana and Jenna Orellana, six great-grandchildren, Emma, Jocelyn, Josiah and Elias Wilson, Sydney Halsmer and Rowan Sahly. He is also survived by his brother, Earl Hesterberg and his sister, Marian (Richard) Elledge.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185. Private interment will be held at Highland Home Cemetery in Ledyard, Iowa.
