Paul Robert Bufkin of West Chicago and formerly of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at home. He was born on July 5, 1931 to Richard and Goldie Bufkin and grew up in Pasedena, California.

Paul served in the Navy Reserve for twenty years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He worked for Pacific Bell and was transferred to (Bell Labs) Lucent Technologies in 1980, working as an engineer. He loved his work and was well respected. He retired in June 2014. He was good with his hands and could fix most anything.

He is survived by his wife, Verda Bufkin, and daughter, Peggy Bufkin of Los Osos, CA, as well as two sisters, Dorothy (Stan) Miller and Ruth (Kay) Cole and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
