Sokolis
October 15, 1942 – November 2, 2016
Patricia Sokolis, age 74, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born on October 15, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland.
She was raised on the south side of Chicago and went to South Shore High School. From there, she attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree.
She worked over 30 years at the Village Links Golf Course in Glen Ellyn, IL, where she provided much of the graphic design work for the Links, including its iconic "tree" logo. She loved to read fiction (crime) novels by James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, John Sanford, and many others. She also enjoyed her many friends at the Lombard Moose Lodge, collecting antiques, and vintage doll clothes.
She was the daughter of Virgil and Neva Munger. Her brother, Richard, died before she was born, so she was raised as an only child. Her eldest son, Geoffrey, passed away in 2012. She is survived by Isham and Patricia Jones (son and daughter-in-law), and their two children (her grandchildren), Isham and Gabriella Jones, and Eleanor Jones (daughter-in-law) and her son Reese (her grandson).
