Patricia S. "Trish" Longo, age 64, a resident of Wheaton, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021. She was born March 14, 1957 in Oak Park, Illinois to Joseph & Patricia Skarr.

She was a devoted educator who began her career as a classroom aide. She quickly understood that she had found her true calling and decided to complete her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, which she received from Trinity International University. She taught 1st and 2nd grades at Emerson Elementary School in Wheaton, and also found time to earn a Master's Degree from Olivet Nazarene University while she worked, until her retirement in 2020. While she was dedicated to all subjects, she was particularly passionate about teaching children to read. As the daughter of a music teacher, she developed an avid love for music. She sang throughout her life and learned to play both the piano and french horn as a child. She learned a love of baking from her grandmother; cookies and pies were her favorites. She was also a doting dog lover and always had a loyal companion at her side.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 37 years, Gary; her children, Drew (Meg) Longo & Raechel (Lisa Dowling) Longo; her grandchildren, Joseph & Wendy; her sister Laura (Dan) Chick; her sister & brother-in-law: Sharon (David) Williams & Jimmie (Laura) Longo; and her nieces & nephew: Jonathan (Soraya) Williams, Valerie (David) Fontanetta & Lauretta (Julio) Madrid.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1771 Wiesbrook Rd S., Wheaton, IL 60189 on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 Noon. All guests are asked to wear a mask or facial covering.
