In Loving Memory of Patricia Reid, née Kuse

Patricia Reid, née Kuse, age 85, a cherished former resident of Hanover Park and currently of of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 23, 1937, in Chicago, to William and Margaret Kuse, and she was the eldest of 12 cousins who her Aunt Mae affectionately referred to as her "dirty dozen."

Patricia spent her early years in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago and graduated from Siena High School. Known to her friends and family as "Pat" or "Patsy," she dedicated herself to raising her four beloved children in the suburbs, providing them with a nurturing and loving home.

One of Pat's greatest passions was her unwavering support for the Chicago Cubs. She was a devoted fan who celebrated the highs and lows of her beloved team throughout the years and was thrilled to watch them win the World Series. Pat also had a deep love for literature and travel, often immersing herself in the pages of a good book or exploring new destinations with a sense of wonder and curiosity. She found joy in playing Bingo and actively engaged with the Wayne Township Senior Center, and recently continuing her involvement at the Oswego Senior Center.

Patricia is survived by her children, James (Pamela) Reid, Debra Reid, Donald Reid, and Sharon (Terry) Olson, along with her 14 adoring grandchildren and four cherished great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind seven cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and four lifelong friends who meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret, her sister Margaret "Peggy" Kasin, her aunt Mae, and four of her dear cousins, and two of her very best friends.

A visitation to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, located at 565 Randy Rd., Carol Stream, IL 60188. A funeral mass in her honor will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, situated at 1415 W. Lies Rd., Carol Stream, IL 60188. Following the service, Patricia will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital in Chicago Il, or Oswegoland Senior Community Center Oswego, Il.

Patricia Kuse née Reid will forever be remembered for her smile, love, laughter, and the warmth she brought to the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.
