Obituary

Patricia A. Clark, a beloved former resident of Ventura, California, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 77. She was born on March 17, 1946, in El Paso, Texas, to Doug and Alma Clifton and was the middle sister of four siblings.

In 1978, Patti's life took an amazing turn when she crossed paths with Don Clark at the First Baptist Church in Ventura. Their connection deepened, and they united in marriage on November 4, 1978, creating a loving partnership that endured for 44 years. That partnership was tested throughout the years as they remodeled several homes, with Patti creating the plan and Don making it happen.

Patti's home was a haven for creativity. She had an entire room dedicated to her stamping hobby, filling a handmade dresser that Don made for her. It was her way of expressing herself and finding moments of tranquility amidst the chaos. She also loved traveling, with Hawaii being one of her favorite destinations. Her children and grandchildren will never forget her retirement trip when she took them all to Oahu.

Patti was a devoted wife and a strong parent who gave her children a love of reading and a strong work ethic. Her commitment to children extended beyond her family as she embarked on a remarkable journey of running a childcare service for over three decades. Her passion for working with preschool children was boundless, and she dedicated herself to teaching them essential reading and writing skills, leaving an indelible mark on the young minds she touched. Patti was an active member of the Ventura Daycare Association, where she shared her wisdom and expertise with fellow caregivers, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

She is survived by her husband, Don Clark of North Aurora, her children, Debi (Alex Olivo) Brown, Dale Pfingsten, and David (Stephanie) Clark, daughter-in-law Sheehan Pfingsten, six grandchildren - Kara Brown, Rhett Brown, Amy Pfingsten, Eric Pfingsten (Asia), Mathia Clark and Nevaeh Clark, one great-granddaughter, Melody Pfingsten. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Ward and Martha Clifton, and one brother, Jimmy Clifton.

She joins one son in heaven, Darrell Pfingsten, her sister Jeannie Lockwood and her Grandma Brown, a relationship she cherished.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Covenant Church, 2001 Lakeview Dr., Wheaton, Illinois 60189.
