Pamela Patel, age 65, a resident of Glendale Heights for 36 years, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, suddenly after a stroke at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. She was born January 5, 1947 in Granite City, Illinois.

Pam graduated from Granite City High School and then from Southern Illinois University. She moved to Chicago where she worked as an Insurance underwriter and where she met Viresh "Pat" Patel. They were married on January 8, 1976. She has worked for Greater Europe Mission where she worked as a writer. Until recently she has worked for Sacket Business Media as a production editor.

She enjoyed reading and cooking. She could read a book every day. She enjoyed cooking every cuisine and experimenting with exotic ingredients. She was an active member of Wheaton Bible Church where she was involved with the Women's Bible Study. She also enjoyed scrapbooking.

She is survived by her husband, Pat Patel, two children, Colin (fiancee Jennifer Kreuzpaintner) Patel and Anna (fiancee Josh Hamilton) Patel, her mother, Ann Robertson, one brother, Peter (Kristi) Sabin, two sisters, Susan (Jim) Fitzpatrick and Lynn (John) Zelenak.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Sabin and one sister, Gail Sabin.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 20, from 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00.
