Obituary

Paige Alyse Gibbons, age 42, was born on December 17, 1983, in Winfield, Illinois, to Theodore and Janice Gibbons. She grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois, and graduated from Glenbard North High School. She later spent time living in St. Charles before returning to Carol Stream, where she passed away on October 15, 2026.

Paige was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Master, where she was also confirmed.

Paige loved the outdoors and enjoyed outdoor sports, including playing softball. Some of her cherished memories were made fishing with her grandfather and father, sharing time together and enjoying the simple pleasures of being outdoors.

Animals held a special place in Paige’s heart, especially cats. Her two beloved cats were cherished members of her family and brought companionship and love to her life. One of Paige’s most treasured memories was her mother singing “You Are My Sunshine” to her whenever she was feeling ill. The song held a special place in Paige’s heart, serving as a sweet reminder of her mother’s love.

Paige dedicated time to helping others through her work with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), where she served as both a peer counselor and a life coach. Drawing on her own personal experiences, she spoke to high school and junior high school students about mental health. Through her presentations and conversations, Paige helped raise awareness, encouraged understanding, and shared her experiences in hopes of helping others who might be facing similar challenges. Her willingness to speak openly about mental health was a meaningful way she contributed to her community.

In her quieter moments, Paige enjoyed true crime stories and the intrigue of a good mystery. She also had a keen interest in English history, particularly the intriguing eras of kings, queens, and royal court drama.

Paige will be remembered for her love of family, her affection for her cats, her enjoyment of the outdoors, and her dedication to helping others through her work with NAMI. By sharing her own experiences, she offered others an opportunity to better understand mental health and reminded young people of the importance of awareness and compassion.

Paige’s life touched others in ways both personal and meaningful, and she will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Paige is survived by her parents, Ted and Jan Gibbons, and her Aunt Caryn and Uncle Bob Alonzo. She was preceded in death by her brother, Brandon Gibbons; her maternal grandparents, Ray and Mary Lou Hammerich; paternal grandparents, Paul and Hazel Gibbons; and her uncle, Dave Curry.
