Otis Lee Stringer Jr, age 81, a resident of Lisle, died Friday, February 22, at the Westbury Care Center in Lisle. He was born on July 17, 1926 in Moberly, Missouri to Otis and Ethel Stringer.
He served in the Army Air Corps in the Philippines during W.W.II. On September 28, 1947 he married Betty Yager in Moberly. They lived in St. Louis where he worked as an accountant. They were encouraged and discipled by the believers at Emmaus Bible Chapel in Ferguson, MO for over 20 years. He was active with the Gideons. Later Otis was an elder and served as the church administrator at Covenant Presbyterian Church in suburban St. Louis County. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from UMSL in January of 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, two children, Cheri Stringer of Wheaton and Brad (Marla) Stringer of Wheaton, three grandchildren, Meredith (Matthew) Hutchings, Emily, and Nathan Stringer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Otis L. Stringer III.
A funeral service will be held at Bethany Chapel, 404 N. President St. in Wheaton on Wednesday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00.
Interment will be held privately at Wheaton Cemetery.
