Olive A. Badger, age 94, a lifelong resident of Lombard, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10th. She was born December 26, 1921 to Earl and Leola Danker at the family home in Lombard at Rt. 53 and St. Charles Rd.
Olive grew up in Lombard and attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Community High School in Glen Ellyn. During the war, she married Dick Miller, an Army Air Corp pilot, who died in a training accident. After Dick's death, she worked at Colorado Springs Children's Home Orphanage for a few years. Her aunt Grace introduced her to Robert A. Badger and they were married on September 12, 1952. They were married for 55 years until his death in 2007.
Her faith was central to her life and she was an active member at Lombard Gospel Chapel, where she was a faithful member of the Women's Bible Study. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and crafting. She enjoyed traveling to Florida to be with her brother and sister-in-law. She loved her cats and her dogs. She loved her family and was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Bruce A. (Lois) Badger of Wheaton and Judith A. Badger of Lombard, five grandchildren, Olivia (Brandon) Sloan, Allen (Nicole) Badger, Rebekah (Jon) Smith, Robert Badger and Deborah Badger, 13 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Mary Danker.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dick Miller and Robert A. Badger, her parents, and her brother, Richard E. Danker.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 18 at 5:00 at Lombard Gospel Chapel, 369 N. Stewart Ave., Lombard, IL 60148, where friends may visit with the family from 3 until 5 p.m. Private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West.
