Obituary

Odette Wilson Acuna, age 83, a resident of Wheaton since 1945, died August 7, 2011, at ManorCare in Naperville, Illinois. She was born March 16, 1928 in Chicago to Roy and Myrtle Wilson.

Odette graduted from Wheaton Academy and then Wheaton College in 1949. She studied art at the University of Chicago and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. In June of 1953 she married Antonio Acuna. She was a prolific artist working in a variety of mediums. Her artwork was sold across the country in boutiques and studios. She was a volunteer at the Wheaton Christian Grammar School where her children attended. For many years she was active at of Wheaton Bible Church and in recent years has attended College Church in Wheaton.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio Acuna of Wheaton, five children, Tony (Shelly) Acuna of Denver, CO, Alexandra (Jim) Driscoll of Darien, Roy (Susan) Acuna of Batavia, Victoria (Luis) Perez of Vallodalid, Spain, and Billy (Danielle) Acuna of Naperville, 10 grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Eunice Wilson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 3:00 PM at College Church in Wheaton.
