Obituary

Norma M. Steck, age 86, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, was called home on Sunday, November 19, 2017. She was born October 26, 1931 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania to Matthew and Emma Moses.

Norma grew up in Luzerne where she graduated high school as valedictorian. She then graduated from Misericordia University with a degree in Chemistry. She worked in Rochester, NY for Kodak until she married Louis Steck on January 14, 1956. While he was serving in the Marines they lived in Quantico, Virginia. After multiple moves, they settled in Wheaton, IL in 1971. After raising their family, Norma took a position at Wheaton North teaching English as a second language.

She enjoyed playing the piano, photography and travel. In retirement she and Lou enjoyed going to Melaque, Mexico during the winter. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Louis, three daughters, Mary Lou (Jerrold) Middleton of St. Charles, Jane (Warren) God of Fairport, NY and Susan (Mark) Molenkamp of Wheaton, six granddaughters, Amanda, Katelynn, Ellen, Gina, Bridgette and Emily and six great-grandchildren, Reese, Avery, Parker, Louis, James, and Henry. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Laura Sidelko.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Private interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
