Norberto Gabriel Lacson, "Norby," age 73, a 40 year resident of Wheaton, IL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at his beloved home. He was born on June 2, 1945 in Navotas, Philippines to Benjamin and Emilia Lacson.
He graduated from the University of the Philippines (UP) with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. In the late 1960's, he came to the United States and lived in New York. He moved to Chicago in 1971 where he worked as a structural engineer. He married Dalisay Anagaran on August 14, 1972. He started Lacson and Associates, an engineering firm in the 1980's. He was a leader in his field as a post-tension consultant who helped design buildings such as the Sears Tower, Metrodome, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
Norby was a very generous, brilliant, hardworking, stubborn, courageous, and resilient man whose life centered around his family. He enjoyed playing tennis, family road trips, and playing with his grandchildren and fur babies. His faith was also an important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Dalisay, three daughters, Annalissa (Ed) Yamashita of Madison, WI, Jenine (Philip) Rolfe of Sarasota, FL, and Elaine (Dan) Cameron of Denver, CO, three grandchildren, Isabelle, Gabriel and Jacob, two sisters, Marcelina Lacson and Christina (Isidro) Casimiro, and one niece, Christine Casimiro. He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Emilia Lacson, one sister, Assuncion Limbania " Lemie," and his loving golden retriever, Brando.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, from 9:30 until 12:30 p.m. followed by prayers at Hultgren Funeral Home at 304 N Main St., Wheaton and then a mass at St. Mark Church, 303 E. Parkway Drive, Wheaton , at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice, which would be in the spirit of Norby's selflessness.
