Nicholas "Nick" Riggio, age 75, a resident of Winfield, IL, died January 6, at home with his family. He was born October 16 in Chicago to Frank and Anna Riggio.
Nick retired from AT&T in 1994, having worked in engineering for 40 years. He served in multiple organizations, The Telephone Pioneers, Wheaton Kiwanis, Addison Recreation Club, Knights of Columbus Golf League and Americans of Italian Decent, just to name a few. He was also an active member of the Gary Methodist Church since 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Riggio; two sons, Nicolas (Nora) Riggio of Warrenville; Anthony (Joanna) of Carol Stream; step son, Kevin (Susan) Olson of N.Y.; stepdaughter, Amy (Luke) Panagonov; grandchildren, Anthony and Nicolas Riggio, David (Sandra) Jensen; Jennifer (Kevin) Fossett, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, David, Jr. and Aiden Jensen; brother, Frank (Donna) Riggio, and nephews.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 12, from 2-5 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home 304 N Main Wheaton IL. A memorial service will follow Monday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. Gary Memorial Methodist Church 224 N. Main Wheaton 60187, IL. Interment was private.
