Naomi Ruth Plunkett, age 75, a resident of Downers Grove, Illinois, died on Sunday, December 22 at home in Downers Grove. She was born on March 24, 1938 in Oak Park, Illinois.

Naomi graduated from North Park Academy. While singing in the Hi C Choral in Chicago she met Larry Plunkett. They were married in 1958.

Naomi was a secretary at many different places, the last before her retirement being Baptist General Conference Headquarters (now Converge Worldwide) in Arlington Heights. She was a member of Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, as well as being an active member of many other churches during her lifetime - singing in choir and serving in many other church ministries.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Larry Plunkett, daughters Dawn (Bob) Dickinson of Elmhurst, Laura (Carl) Bjerga of Lombard and son David (Diane) Plunkett of Libertyville as well as 6 grandchildren – Kyle (Jackie) Bjerga, Lindsay(Luke) Bjerga-Palm, Jordan (Lisa) Dickinson, Shane Dickinson, Andrew Plunkett and Lukas Plunkett and 2 great-grandchildren – Carson and Parker Bjerga. She is also survived by her sister June Gustafson of Carol Stream.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Gustafson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m.
