Nancy L. Wiechmann, age 56, a former resident of Wheaton, died Tuesday, June 25 after a longtime struggle with MS, at West Suburban Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomingdale. She was born on August 17, 1956 to Wayne and Doris Wiechmann in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
As a young adult Nancy volunteered as a candy striper at Central DuPage Hospital and continued to volunteer at hospitals and nursing homes. She graduated from DeVry University in the late 1970's with a degree in computer technology. She worked at Bell Labs in Naperville and Orbicom in Virginia.
She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Naperville where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her brother, Lee (Marta) Wiechmann of TX, twin sister, Ruth Wiechmann Browne of Oswego , nieces and nephews, Kim (Ben) Hastings , Kyle (Cathy) Wiechmann, Amy (Tom) Reuhl, and Melissa Fredericks, and one grandniece, Leena. She is also survived by her uncle Don Picha of Glen Ellyn.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton on Saturday, June 29 at 2:00pm.
