Nancy L. Kuhlmann, age 86, of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away on May 17, 2025. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy lived a life of unwavering faith, kindness, and service to others.
Born on July 23, 1938, to Ernest and Alice Schwartz, Nancy grew up in Melrose Park, Illinois, alongside her beloved sisters, Carol and Judy. She married the love of her life, Wayne Kuhlmann, on July 13, 1957. Together they shared a lifetime of love and partnership, raising a family and building a legacy of faith and community service.
Nancy's professional life included work at Melrose Park National Bank, Glen Ellyn Bank, Schaumburg Bank, and Jewel-Osco. While excelling in her career, she also dedicated herself to raising her three children with love, strength, and grace. Later, she found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, creating cherished memories and leading by example with compassion, wisdom, and humor.
Nancy lived in several communities over the years, including Schaumburg, Glen Ellyn, Creal Springs, Illinois, and Sugar Hill, Georgia, before settling in Wheaton. A woman of deep faith, Nancy was baptized and confirmed, and she remained a faithful servant of the Lord throughout her life. Her service included volunteering at the local food pantry and along with her husband founded St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dahlonega, Georgia.
She is survived by her loving children: Luana (Michael) Arnold, Leslie (Jim) Bethards, and Gary (Xristina) Kuhlmann; her nine grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Kyle, Alyssa, Crystal, Dustin, Noah, Connor, and Hannah; and her seven great-grandchildren: Brayden, Jackson, Reagan, Loghan, Beckham, Wells, and Lincoln. She is also remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews: Ron, Dietrich, Mike, Joni, Tom, Shari, and Steve.
Nancy will be remembered for her radiant smile, her devotion to family and faith, and her compassionate heart. Her legacy will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know and love her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Wheaton.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 5, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 N. Cross Street, Wheaton.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
