Nancy L. Hedges, age 76, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Symphony of Hanover Park in Hanover Park. She was born April 14, 1941 in Bellwood, West Virginia to Melvin Lee and Virginia Carr.

Nancy graduated valedictorian from Rupert High School in Rupert, West Virginia where she met Jim Hedges. They were married on June 16, 1962. Before marriage she worked at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. They settled in Chicago and raised their two daughters. In 1987, they moved to Glen Ellyn, IL.

She was always involved in church-life and was a Children's Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed entertaining, crafts and sewing. She was also an avid reader.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Robbi Lynn Knerr and Cheryl (David) Bauer, one granddaughter, Katie Bauer, and two sisters, Patricia (Jack) Gadd and Ginny (Larry) Owens and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, where a service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
