Nancy J. Gullickson, age 62, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 31, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, to David and Elaine Lange.
Nancy grew up in Mt. Prospect and graduated from Hersey High School in 1979. She met the love of her life, Steve Gullickson, and they exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony in Hawaii on February 14, 1999.
Throughout her life, Nancy held various roles that allowed her to make a positive impact on others. She worked as a crossing guard, Boy Scouts Advancement Chair, and CCW at her church. She also worked at the Wheaton Sports Center daycare and served as a security guard. Nancy's creative mind was evident through her passion for crafts, arts, and crocheting. She always had a project in progress and took great pleasure in expressing her artistic talents.
One of Nancy's greatest joys was traveling with her children. She delighted in taking them on trips to water parks, zoos, and museums, creating lasting memories together. Camping was another activity that brought her immense happiness and allowed her to appreciate nature's beauty. Family was of utmost importance to Nancy, and she cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Steve Gullickson, her two children, Meggan and Carl, her parents, Dave and Elaine Lange, and her siblings, Jane Lange, Mike Lange, Greg Lange, Joe (Shirley) Lange, Kelli Lange, and Aimee Lange. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Lange.
Nancy J. Gullickson will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, her creativity, and her unwavering love for her family. Her presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but her memory will be cherished forever.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 565 Randy Rd., Carol Stream. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 421 Cochise Ct, Carol Stream, IL 60188. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
