Nancy Barcelona, a resident of Lombard, IL, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 in her home, following a very short, but tough battle with cancer. She was born June 18, 1955 in Chicago, IL.
Nancy worked for Glenbard South High School as the school's registrar, but worked for Glenbard North for many years prior. She was an active member of Parkview Community Church and was dedicated to God's Word. Nancy was passionate about arts and crafts, specifically jewelry making, sewing and wood work. She enjoyed gardening in her backyard and spending time with nature at the Arboretum.
The joy Nancy brought to her friends and family, as well as her commitment to her grandchildren, is what she will be remembered for most.
She is survived by her two children, son Matthew Belardinelli, and daughter Amanda (Belardinelli) Gripp; two grandchildren, Conor and Breckin Gripp; her mother, Julia Barcelona; her three sisters Laura Koehler, Cathy Platt, and Marianne Legg; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ross Barcelona.
A service, or rather, Nancy's "Celebration of Life", will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at
Parkview Community Church
