Myron Dudek, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 7 at the age of 93. He was born in the city of Wausau, WI on July 31st, 1922, moved to Racine as a child where he graduated from William Horlick High School. He served in the United States Navy for three years (Submarine service) in World War II. He was married to Caroline Anna Genich, his childhood sweetheart on February 16, 1946, attended Ripon College for one year, served seven years as a postal clerk and 15 years as a partner in the Dudek-Jensen Insurance Agency in Racine and also in Milwaukee from 1959-1969.
During those years he was active in the North American Baptist General Conference churches in the Christian Education Ministries and their state summer camp programs. He moves to Norridge, IL in 1969 where he served as the administrator of the Central Baptist Home for 18 years and continued in the Baptist youth camping program as a founding member of the four-state (IA,IL, MN, WI) Central Baptist Camp Board, now the Village Creek Bible Camp located in Lansing, IA.
Also, while living in Norridge, IL, Myron was active in local community programs and was a founding board member of several Norridge organizations, namely: the Norridge Rotary Club, the Norridge Senior's Assistance Center and the Norridge United Way. In his care of the elderly he also inaugurated the first Adult Day Care Service for seniors in the area and the Home prepared the meals for the meals-on-wheels program as an extended part of senior services.
Preceding him in death were his parents Edward and Henrietta (Kortemeier) Dudek and an infant sister, Judith Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline,three children; C. Lynne (Donald) Miller of Madison, WI, Carla J. (Tim) Neuman of Kelowa, BC, and Roger A. of Bensenville, 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers; James E. (Rachel) of CA, Eugene W. (Doris) of WI, and sisters; Ruth (the late Robert) Leslie of OH, Eunice (the late Robert) Tessmer of FL and Elizabeth (Lawrence) Ashman of FL.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at The Branch Community Church (Foster Ave. Baptist Church) 6125 W. Foster Ave. Chicago IL 60630 / 773.763.5300. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held privately near Racine, Wisconsin.
