Mary Morlean Peacock, age 75, of Wheaton, IL, died peacefully at home, on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. She was born December 27, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI, to Marguerite (Kinnear) and John Fonse Dowling.
Morlean grew up in Milwaukee and raised her family in Rhode Island and London, England. With degrees from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Rhode Island College, she later became a teacher in Milwaukee. Morlean retired to Wheaton, where she enjoyed family, gardening, reading, French, as well as playing bridge and attending concerts with friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Jason) Jones of Wheaton; sons, Christopher (Melissa) of Callicoon, N.Y., and Daniel (Robin) of Maplewood, N.J.; grandsons, Benjamin, Devon, Henry and Theodore; granddaughters, Madeline and Carina; brothers, Dennis Dowling of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and Brian Dowling of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Morlean's sister, Kathy Coleman, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at
Cantigny Park
