Monrie M
Neisler
September 16, 1938 – May 8, 2026
Monrie M. Neisler, 87, a resident of Warrenville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026. She was born September 16, 1938, in Albany, Kentucky, to James & Mattie Asberry.
She had a very full life! After graduating high school in New Castle, Indiana, she joined the Women's Army Corps from 1956 to 1959. It was in the service she met her husband, John Harmon Neisler, marrying in 1960. They remained married until his death in 2002. A career military wife, she lived in the Panama Canal Zone and multiple bases stateside. Throughout her life she worked in healthcare, and after putting herself through nursing school at the College of DuPage while working as a nurse's aide at the DuPage Convalescent Center, she rose to the position of Nursing Supervisor. She loved to travel -- Costa Rica was a favorite -- and she was a consistent presence in Spanish classes at College of Dupage. She took pride in being physically fit and enjoyed swimming laps, working out, and taking yoga and Tai Chi classes at the Warrenville Community Center Gym. She adored her grandson, Lincoln. She made friends easily, strived to find the good in people, and lived her life in service to others.
She is survived by her children, daughter Michelle Neisler of San Diego, CA, son John H (Jack) Neisler, Jr (Wendy) of New Orleans, LA, her grandson John Lincoln Neisler; brother Johnny Asberry (Betty) of New Castle IN, sister Faye Fairchild (Dan) of New Castle, IN, and sister Darlene Riggs (Steve) of New Castle IN, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Neisler, CSM (Ret.), USArmy
