Mohammad Nezam Assian, known to friends and co-workers as "Mike", age 66, a 35 year resident of West Chicago, IL, died Monday, February 24, 2014, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born March 29, 1947 in Shiraz, Iran.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He was an Assurance Quality Manager and Trainer at MAAC Machinery in Carol Stream, IL. He was a member of the Physics Honorary Society and was also a founding member of the Thorium Action Group in West Chicago, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Assian, nee Kifer; his two children, Hamid Nezam Assian and Sarah Elizabeth Assian; his father, Abdul Hamid Assian; five siblings, Banou, Amin, Meshkat, Azim and Ezzat; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Heshmat Assian.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a funeral service to be held at 6:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private.
