IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael E.
Weinberg
July 16, 1952 – January 23, 2025
Michael E. Weinberg
Michael "Mike" Weinberg was born July 16th, 1952 Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To say that his childhood was rocky would be an understatement, but after several years of uncertainty, he was adopted by Donald and Ann Weinberg at the age of 15. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1970, and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater to study History and Engineering.
Discovering that fulfillment came more from working with his hands than behind a desk, Mike left school and began his career with the railroad. Mike worked within the railroad industry, becoming the Manager of Structures until 1985 when he left the industry to begin a new path: his own construction company, Weinberg Independent Contracting. He would continue working for WIC until his retirement in 2020, and during all of that time you would be hard pressed to find a house in his immediate neighborhood that doesn't have his imprint on it. From bathrooms to basements and floors to full remodels/constructions, he did it all. He stepped away from the manual labor side of construction in 2012 to work for his brother-in-law, Bob, as a Construction Manager for Design Solutions working at Modelez and General Mills overseeing installs. Mike would retire in 2020, looking to spend the rest of his time travelling the world with his wife, Sue. Mike and Sue have been married for 39 years, living in the same house in Wheaton, Illinois where they raised their kids, Michael "Mikey" and Jack.
He is not only survived by his wife Sue (née Raimondi), son Michael and wife Brittany (née Galiardo), and son Jack, but by the thousands of memories he has created through countless friends and family. Mike's family extended outside of his brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews; everyone that he became acquainted with became a part of his family. He is held as a father-figure to more than just his two sons and his impact will be continued to be felt by so many lives for years to come.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A brief service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
