Michael David Scott, age 42, a resident of Winfield, died Sunday, November 22 surrounded by his family at the Central Du Page Hospital. He was born on May 14, 1967 to Rev. Richard and Ruth Anne Scott in Lexington, KY.
During his childhood Mike lived in Brookport, IL, Nashville, IL, Bethalto, IL and Maryville, IL where his father pastored churches. Mike graduated from Greenville College where he met Sandy Pahlmann. They were married on May 28, 1988. After college he worked at St. Louis University Hospital and led the Jr. High group at his church in Maryville.
Mike began his career with Beckman Coulter on June 15,1992 as a Sales
Representative in the Dallas, Texas area. He has held positions of increasing
responsibility over the past 17 years up to his present role as Central Zone LSR
Service Manager. Mike has consistently been recognized as an innovator and a
master of difficult implementations throughout his career and will be sorely
missed by his colleagues. Mike will be remembered by all who knew him for his unique sense of humor and charismatic personality. He had the ability to brighten any situation.
He was an active member of the Wheaton Bible Church where he served in Stephen Ministry, Children's Ministry and the Shepherding Team. He also became passionate about missions to Kenya, Africa after traveling there multiple times.
Mike is survived by his wife Sandy, daughters Amanda, 15, and Megan, 11, his parents, one sister, Barbara (Tim) Marriott and two nephews, Caleb Marriott and Logan Wolter.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
