Obituary

Michael Joseph Busch was born on March 14th, 2003 in South Korea - a heritage he loved and embraced. He joined our family six months later. From the earliest age he was enthusiastic about all he did: trains, Legos, Star Wars, and Lego Star Wars! As he grew older he was passionate about martial arts, music, technology, F1 racing, salsa dancing, and cars. He also loved fishing and caring for fish, turtles, snakes, and all sorts of creatures, including his Coonhound, Emily.

Michael was most enthusiastic about welcoming his sister, Elizabeth, into our family and becoming a big brother at the age of seven.

He brought laughter and joy to family and friends with his over-the-top reactions, funny takes on life, and impersonations of people he knew or met at work. He was always quick to help others, and loved spending time with friends exploring Chicago, dancing, finding new restaurants, and singing karaoke.

We take comfort in knowing that he trusted Christ as his Savior and the promise of everlasting life. His faith was bolstered and encouraged through his churches - Hope Fellowship, Gospelife, and Renewal Church - and schools, Wheaton Christian Grammar School ('17) and Wheaton Academy ('21).

Michael went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2025, after a motorcycle accident. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Valerie Busch of West Chicago; sister, Elizabeth, whom he adored; and grandparents, Juan and Graciela Chediak, with whom he loved taking day trips and traveling. He also is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandma Linda Busch, whom he loved dearly and spent many summers on her farm riding horses and driving alone, underage (at 12!) on back country roads.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held May 31st at Gospelife Church in Carol Stream, IL (1N100 Gary Ave, Carol Stream, IL). Visitation begins at 10:30 am and the service at Noon. A luncheon at Gospelife will immediately follow the service. The interment will be private earlier that day.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift to or sponsoring a student in Michael's honor with Kids Alive Dominican Republic ( www.KidsAliveDR.com ), where he served on a school missions trip, which greatly impacted his spiritual life.
