Michael Hugh Bryant, age 81, a resident of Carol Stream, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at his home.
Mike was born on June 23, 1945, in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, to Henry and Cleora Bryant. He grew up in Okanogan, Washington, where he attended school and graduated from high school in 1964.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 - 1969, an experience that remained an important part of his life. Following his service, Mike married Christine and moved to Melrose Park, Illinois, where they raised their son, Zachary, and daughter, Megan.
Mike spent a significant portion of his professional life at Temperature Equipment Corporation in Melrose Park, Illinois, where he later retired after many years.
In 2010, Mike began a new chapter making a home with his longtime partner, Cynthia "Cyndi" Holich, in Carol Stream, Illinois. There they enjoyed many years together spending time with family and friends.
Mike had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and nature. He spent time gardening, hiking, and camping, and expressed his creativity through scratch art drawings, painting, and woodworking. He also valued the time he spent with friends.
Mike is survived by his partner, Cynthia "Cyndi" Holich; his son, Zachary (Bridget) Bryant; his daughter, Megan (Brian) Walker; his grandchildren, Isabel and Riley Bryant, Caleb and Wilhelmina Walker, and Precious Bowling; his sister, Penelope "Penny" Stevens; his former spouse, Christine Bryant; and many family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home in Carol Stream, on September 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A short memorial service will be held at 5:45 p.m. The memorial service will be livestreamed. Please check back for a link.
Burial will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
