Metro Raymond Swetz, age 90, of Wheaton, Illinois, was called home to the Lord on March 19, 2026.

Born on May 6, 1935, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Metro was the son of Metro Swetz Jr. and Genevieve Swetz (née Bielecki). He later made his home in Wheaton, Illinois, where he resided for much of his life.

A devout Catholic, Metro was a faithful member of St. Michael Parish in Wheaton. His faith was an important part of his life and was reflected in his quiet generosity, particularly through his support of Catholic and veterans’ charities.

Metro proudly served his country in the United States Army, entering service in August 1955 and attaining the rank of Specialist (E-4). Following his military service, he spent many years working in land surveying with Webster Survey.

He enjoyed golfing and, in his later years, enjoyed bowling and tending to his vegetable garden.

Metro was preceded in death by his parents, Metro Swetz Jr. and Genevieve Swetz, and his sister, Joanne R. Betchy. He is survived by his nephews, Carl Betchy (Cindy Betchy, née Conner) and Jerod Betchy (Jody Betchy), and extended family.

Visitation will be held at St. Michael Parish, Wheaton, Illinois, on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Parish.
