Mery Inda de Velasco, age 66, died at her home, on May 8
surrounded by her family. Mery was born March 3, 1942 in La Paz, Bolivia, South America. She was a faithful wife and mother who loved Jesus Christ. She was known as a woman who greatly enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. She was known for her love of children and her delicious cooking, especially her famous Spanish flan. Mery served honorably for 19 years as a Justice of the Peace in La Paz, Bolivia. In 1999, she came to the United States to be closer to her family and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Wheaton Bible Church - Iglesia del Pueblo and faithfully served in the worship team. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Mery is survived by her husband of 45 years, Nicolas Velasco Teran. Her children, Norma Velasco, Javier Velasco and Karina (Tim) Anderson; her granchildren, A. J. and Victoria Velasco, and Virginia and Eric Anderson; her sisters, Ruth (Edmundo) Vargas de Lara, Daysi (Emilio) Ulloa de Aguilar; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Javier Velasco.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wheaton Bible Church, Main and Franklin Streets, in Wheaton, with Rev. Al Guerra officiating. Interment will be at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, IL.
