Born on July 11, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana Meredith Godoy dedicated her life to helping others through both her profession, volunteer service and daily life. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Evansville College in 1965 and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Tulane University School of Social Work in 1967.

Meredith enjoyed a long and meaningful career as a school social worker with Lombard School District 44, where she touched the lives of countless students, families and people with whom she worked. Beyond her professional life, Meredith was committed to her community. She volunteered for many years with the Friends of the Wheaton Public Library and participated in a children’s program through the YWCA.

Meredith was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tyler Bateman in 2024.

Meredith had a truly generous spirit and in addition to being survived by her sister, DeeGee Williams (Mark) and sister-in-law, Doris Rahn, she is also survived by many friends, caregivers and other people whose lives she touched. They all became part of her family.
