Melvin J. Michaud, age 68, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, for the past 12 years, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 16, 2018.  He was born May 31, 1950 in Grand Falls, New Bruswick, Canada to Aurele and Rita Michaud.

Mel grew up in Grand Falls and at the age of 19 moved to the United States. He worked for 35 years for Parent Trucking Company in Chicago.

He was a quiet man who was a kid at heart.  He enjoyed being at home and watching western movies. He loved gardening and caring for his roses.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Christine, two children, David Michaud and Erica (Beligh) Sraieb, one grandson, Hunter, two sisters, Gladys and Gisele and one brother, Fabien.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steven and his sister, Zita.

A visitation will be held Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 1 until 4 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
