Melvin E. Malon's Obituary
Melvin E. Malon, age 82, a resident of Glen Ellyn/Countryside, died Monday, August 18, at home. He was born February 9, 1926 in Chicago, IL.
Melvin was a Chicago sports fan, and especially favored the Chicago Cubs! He also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting. He had a strong sense of humor and was very gregarious. He liked to dance and enjoyed country and religious music. Recently he created some nice oil paintings of landscapes.
He is survived by his son, Craig of Glen Ellyn/Countryside; his step-daughter, Ione (Dave) English of Chicago; his companion, Marian Cabaniss of Glen Ellyn/Countryside; his step-granddaughter, Cristine English of Plainfield; and his cousins, Victor (Mary) Rither, and Jean Rither.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Binah.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, from 5-9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Mt. Glenwood Memory Gardens West in Willow Springs, IL.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave. Ste. 2015, Chicago, IL 60602; or to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
