Maysell G. Bowden, age 94, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Monday, July 11, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. She was born August 30, 1910 in Johnsonville, IL.

Maysell was an Auxiliary Member of Gideons International since the mid 1930's. She also volunteered at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL, as well as Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL for over 25 years. She was a member of the Monee Free Methodist Church since 1931. She loved to study the Bible and taught Adult Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed travelling and visited over 30 countries in her lifetime. She was an avid baker, cooking cakes and cookies and loved to entertain family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bowden of Carol Stream; her sister, Maxine (George) Longendorf of Escondido, CA; four nieces, Betty (Carl) Fuchs, Juanita (Irwin) Killian, Judy Longendorf White, and Deborah Longendorf; and a nephew, Donald (Bernadette) Keeling; three half-nieces, Eula Walsworth, Robley Barker, and Marie Jamieson; many great-nephews, including Ronald Keeling, whom she cherished; many great-nieces; and friends worldwide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; and her sister, Fredia Keeling.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, from 3-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel at Windsor Park Manor, 124 Windsor Park Dr., in Carol Stream. Interment will be private at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, IL.
