Max A. Speranske, age 84, a long time resident of Wheaton, died Saturday, May 27, at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 24, 1921.
Max was a retired union sheet metalworker for local 265 in Dupage County. He was a WWII veteran with the US Coast Guard serving in the Pacific theater. He belonged to the St. Michael's leisure club. He was a member of the local 265 retired Tin Knockers Club. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling extensively.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeannette; two sons, Larry (Lisa) Speranske, and Jeff (Vicki) Speranske; and his grandchildren, Felicia, and Trevor Speranske, Jamie, Bekah, and Katie Speranske.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lawrence; sisters, Dolly Speranske, Gertrude Reiser, and Virginia Stulb.
Services will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton on June 1, at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Don McLaughlin officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery for family and friends.
