Obituary

Maurice "Morrey" "Mo" Mitchell Patterson passed from this world to the next peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017.  Morrey was born on July 31, 1928 to Helen and Pat Patterson.  He was preceded in death by Ellie, his wife of 50+ years; his great grandson, Jackson Latimer; and his brother, Tommy Patterson. He is survived by his three children, Beth (David Schmitt) Patterson, Rusty (Faith) Patterson, and Judy (David) Madden; three grandchildren Nick (Kristy) Patterson, Janie (Jared) Latimer and Kate Madden; and great grandchildren Jared, Abby and Evan. He is also survived by brother Charles E. (Joan) Patterson; and his nieces, Kristi Veitch and Kelly Walther.

Morrey graduated from Rockford West High School in 1946, Bradley University in 1953 with a degree in Engineering. He served in the US Army at Fort Bragg, and worked at Barnes Drill in Rockford, Illinois. Then he became an editor at Hitchcock Publishing, opened his own business, MM Patterson and Associates, selling an array of industrial diamond tools. He was the President of ASAM, "Mr. Abrasive Methods", Kiwanis Club of Central Dupage, holding many offices including president. He was a passionate golfer, devoted husband and loving father/grandfather to all.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 12 from 4-6 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Wheaton, IL with a celebration following at the Patterson home. A private burial will take place at Wheaton Cemetery.
