Matthew Alan Leahigh, age 26, a resident of Wheaton, died Saturday, December 3, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born June 5, 1979 in Chicago.
Matt graduated from Wheaton North High School in 1997. He very much loved nature and art, embodying both when he attended the Emily Carr Institute of Art in Vancouver, Canada. He then studied Architecture at the College of DuPage. From early on, music was a very integral part of Matt's life, with his passion growing with every new instrument he laid his hands on.
He is survived by his mother, Lorrie Lynn Johnson Leahigh; his father, Alan K. Leahigh; his brother, Nathan A. Leahigh; and four aunts, Lois (Joe) Reichel, and Dorothy Johnson, and Marilyn (Bill) Wright, and Pam (Cole) Zimmerman; and his uncle, Kevin Leahigh; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Elaine Johnson, and Jack and Rena Leahigh.
A visitation will be held from 3-9 P.M. on December 6, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of Jefferson and Ellis, in Wheaton. Interment is private.
