Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Quirk, 85, of Carol Stream, IL, passed away on November 19, 2016 in her home at Belmont Village.
A gathering of loved ones and prayer service will be held on Saturday, November 26, from 2-5 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL.
Mary Lou was born in Chicago to Mae Farmer and William Quirk on October 13, 1931. She grew up with brothers Bill and Bob and her beloved cousins Kay (McDonough) Kellner and Joseph McDonough, and graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago. Mary Lou and Kay shared many years of sleepovers, ice skating excursions, dances, marriages, children and laughter. Mary Lou also treasured her friendships with sisters-in-law Susan Quirk, Katy McDonough and Patricia Quirk.
After marrying and raising four children, she became a realtor for several agencies in Elmhurst, IL. Later, she became a Credit Analyst for Canon Inc. in Wood Dale, IL. Upon retirement, Mary Lou rekindled her love of dance by performing in church shows and ballroom dancing competitions.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents Mary Josephine (Mae) and William Quirk, former husband Robert Spravka, brothers William Jr. and Robert, sister-in-law Patricia, and cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Mary Lou is survived by her children John Spravka, Thomas Spravka, Mary Kay (Spravka) Eck and Lesa Spravka, her son-in-law, Fred Eck and grandchildren Autumn, Martina, Rachael, Nicole, Andrew, Weston, Evan and Audrey and great grandchild Arthur.
