Mary Jane Pfeiffer, age 83, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born December 31, 1925 in Sewickley, PA.

Mary Jane volunteered with CNS Home Health and Hospice for many years. She enjoyed bowling with the CNS bowling league and also playing bingo with friends and relatives. She also volunteered with the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary.

She is survived by her four sons, John "Jack" (Carole) Pfeiffer of Romeoville, IL, William Randall "Randy" (Cindy) Pfeiffer of Buffalo Grove, IL, Timothy W. "Tim" (Mary) Pfeiffer of North Aurora, IL, and Brian Patrick Pfeiffer of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Michelle (Daniel) Buss, Valarie (Eric) Withrow, and Justin (Jenne) Pfeiffer; seven great-grandchildren, Drake, Dillon, Ella, Aubrey, Emerson, Sarah, and Allison; her brothers, Robert Mercer, and Charles "Rock" (Jean) Mercer; and her sisters, twins Norma (Jack) Merriman, and Lois Becker; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Pfeiffer; and her brother, James L. Mercer.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to the family.
